WIDREM SUBCOMMITTEES
Professional Development
The Professional Development Subcommittee is responsible for identifying, addressing, and supporting the capacity-building and skills development needs of WIDREM members. This includes assessing current competencies, recognizing existing gaps, and designing targeted interventions such as workshops, training sessions, mentorship programs, and knowledge-sharing activities.
Fundraising Committee
Responsible for developing and implementing fundraising strategies that ensure the financial sustainability of the network. This includes identifying potential funding sources, building relationships with donors and partners, writing grant proposals, organizing fundraising events, and exploring innovative financing models.
Science & Strategic
Responsible for overseeing the network’s scientific direction and strategic planning to ensure the effective achievement of its mission and objectives. This includes setting research and programmatic priorities, fostering innovation, guiding policy development, and aligning initiatives with emerging trends and stakeholder needs.
Advocacy & Publicity
The Advocacy and Publicity Subcommittee is responsible for designing and implementing effective strategies to raise awareness of the network’s mission, goals, and achievements. The subcommittee plays a central role in shaping the public image of the network and ensuring its visibility among key stakeholders, including policymakers, partners, academia, media, and the general public.
Grant Writing
Responsible for identifying suitable grant opportunities and leading the application process, including proposal writing, budgeting, and compliance with donor requirements. Additionally, tasked with building the capacity of WIDREM members through training, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to strengthen their skills in grants management, fundraising, and project implementation.
