Julia Phensere is a registered Nurse/Midwife currently working at Nkhoma College of Nursing as a senior Lecturer. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and University Certificate in Midwifery at the University of Malawi; Kamuzu College of Nursing. She completed (yet to graduate) her studies in Master of Science-Global Health Implementation at College of Medicine now KUHeS in October 2022.

She has worked at managerial level the most recent position being Dean of Faculty from 2018 September-2020 September. She worked in Nairobi Kenya, with a local organization called St Johns Community Centre(SJCC) in 2015-2016 as a volunteer under Maternal and Child Health Program, a project which contributed heavily to the reduction of Maternal and child morbidity and mortality in a slum called Kiambiu. She was also attached to the HIV/AIDS program at SJCC.  Her motto is “Do or do not, there’s no try”

She enjoys travelling, reading books and outdoor activities such as hiking.
