ABOUT FUNDRAISING SUBCOMITTEE
PURPOSE:
WIDREM Finance Committee is responsible for advising the WIDREM Board on the organization’s financial matters including membership registration and monthly fees, raising funds for the organization.
ROLES:
- Supporting operations within fundraising for WIDREM.
- Undertaking specific tasks in the support of fundraising event management.
- Performing any other task as assigned by the board members
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Committee shall function in the following areas:
- Collection of membership fees.
- Researching and sourcing suitable funding opportunities/grants with details on requirements.
- Writing grant applications.
- Leading activities as needed in regards to fundraising
- Creating a database of potential sponsors with details on WIDREM strategic plans.
- Assisting with organizing/planning fundraising activities.
- Supporting with soliciting donations.
- Supporting the strengthening relationships with existing sponsors
- Supporting the building of relationships with potential sponsors.
- Considering employing crowdfunding projects for WIDREM.
- Collaborating with WIDREM Board, social media, professional bodies, advocacy and communication teams when needed.
MEMBERSHIP OF THE SUBCOMMITEE
- Membership must be determined by the WIDREM Board:
- Chair, treasurer, representatives of any affiliated committees
- Any interested member.
- The Committee shall be appointed by the WIDREM Board (on the recommendation of its members) from amongst the other committee members and shall consist of NOT less than 3 members and must include the chair, secretary, treasurer and technical advisors. The Chair of the Committee and any interested member shall be appointed by the members of the Committee and ratified by the Board.
- Members may serve 2 successive two-year terms as long as they continue to meet the selection criteria.
- Vacancies on the Committee during the term shall be filled in the same manner as the regular selection process.
